Looking for a color printer? It can be confusing trying to find the best color printers, not to mention the fact that there are so many different types of printers on the market today.
Cost is a big factor in determining whether to buy a laser printer or an inkjet printer. Inkjet printers are usually less expensive, as well as the printer cartridges. Color inkjet printers are more cost effective because you can purchase the individual colors as the ink runs out, unlike many of the color laser cartridges on the market today.
We have been investigating the color printer market for some time now, and after careful research, we have chosen the HP Officejet 6500 Wireless All-in-One Inkjet Printer
as the best value in color printers today. This printer is built to boost your productivity in the regular course of work in your home office. You can print at faster speeds, print on two sides and share this printer via a network, with it's wireless network capability. According to Hewlett Packard, you can print in color for 40% less cost per page than a laser printer, when using HP inkjet printer ink.
Why do we like the HP Officejet 6500 Wireless All-in-One Inkjet Printer? First, it is the best value in its price range. We also think the workmanship is second to none.

Officejet Printer, September 13, 2009In conclusion, we are extremely impressed with the reputation of Hewlett Packard who is a leader in providing commercial and personal computer systems, IT support, and printing and publishing devices. We have searched the internet and have found Amazon to offer the most competitive price (below list price) on color printers. You can find many HP Officejet 6500 Wireless All-in-One Inkjet Printers by clicking on the banner below:I had a Lexmark printer for years and it performed well for me. When it finally bit the dust, a techie friend suggested the HP Officejet and suggested purchasing through Amazon. The printer is fantastic. It can be set to print two-sided automatically which is wonderful. I test printed a page that had photographs and print on both sides. It looks like a professional job; crisp, clear and true-to-life colors. It was a snap to set up following the instructions. Would highly recommend the product to others particularly through Amazon because I saved a lot of money. A friend purchased a similar but lower end HP through another source and paid more than I did.

Best 2-sided wireless printer on market,May 24, 2009 Awesome printer. Easy to setup. Easy to operate. Easy to use. I've used all the features except the photo printing so, can not recommend that yet. I would recommend the larger ink cartridge (XL) depending on printing usage. Happy customer of HP printers.

Great Printer for Mac OS X,July 8, 2009

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)I just finished setting up this printer and had none of the problems mentioned in other reviews. I just followed the directions and it very quickly set itself up and joined my wireless network and is printing from all of my computers!
Compared to HP printers I've owned from the late 90s which didn't even support OS 9 or X, this printer works wonderfully with my Macs. Setup was a breeze (and I suspect easier than with Windows, judging by other reviews) and the software is very tailored to OSX. The printer joined the network with Bonjour and the software even comes with a Dashboard widget to monitor printer cartridges - a vast improvement over Windows-centric HP printers of the past.
If you're considering printers to use with your Mac, this is a great choice. Don't let the setup nightmare stories of Windows users discourage you - OSX and the HP software makes it really easy and foolproof - just follow the directions.
Don't buy yet if you have Windows 7!!!! (as of Nov 2009),August 5, 2009 After reading some of the reviews that mentioned setup issues I was a little hesitant to get this printer. However when I got mine it set itself up on my Windows XP computer without a hitch and is working flawlessly so far (1 mos). It does a good job printing, and compared to an earlier HP model I like that it does double-sided printing without having to print a bunch of sheets, then take them out, reverse them, and send them back thru the printer. Now it does the double-sided on its own. I also really like the scanner; it has a paper feeder that takes up to 35 sheets (although I found limiting it to 15 sheets worked better).

The main thing I wish they had done better is put some more time into the user guide. The one that comes with it is electronic, and just doesn't cover the tasks in enough detail. For example, suppose you want to scan 50 sheets so you break it down into 3 bundles. The way to get it to pause between bundles is to click the "show preview" button on the software window. Same if you are scanning pages by putting them on the document plate for scanning and want to do more than 1 page. Another detail they don't mention is that after loading document(s) you can press the "start scan" button on the printer or click a button on the software interface to start the scan, but after loading the next sheet pressing the "start scan" button doesn't do anything; only the button on the software interface works. This is a hassle if your computer is not near the printer...

Ok, I thought this was a great printer and its supposed to be Windows 7 "compatible" which the naive user might think meant it will work smoothly with a new machine. Good luck with that! So when Windows 7 was released I bought a new computer and tried to install this printer on it. First off, DON'T use the disk supplied with the printer until they start shipping ones that say they support Windows 7. Since they just put the installer on the HP website in Nov 2009 it might be a while before sellers work thru their inventory and get boxes with the new software. Meanwhile you'll have to download the driver from the HP website.
Downloading isn't your problem, it's when you try to install it. As you can see if you go to the HP support forums, people can't get this thing to install with Windows 7. I *strongly* suggest waiting until people are posting on the HP forum they can get it working with Windows 7, or else you're buying an expensive paperweight. I struggled to get it to work, and a lot of screens were saying "fail" and "unable to connect". It was a trying experience, I can't really tell you what steps it took to finally get it to work since I had to try so many things. Definitely NOT the set-up-and-it-works experience I had with hooking it up to a XP machine.
